How are you involved in education?
I am an English Teacher at Mt. St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD.
Have you ever attended an unconference?
I attended edcamp MetroDC at Bullis School last year, and it was my first. It was a fantastic experience, and I hope to see the same enthusiasm in Baltimore.
How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?
I think the edcamp is the perfect way to discover your own PD. Teachers, librarians, and admins sharing what they love brings a vibrancy and energy to PD. I would love to see Baltimore be as electric and inspiring as edcamp MetroDC and my experience at ISTE this summer.
What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?
I want my students to self-advocate and to reach for their dreams. I want to be a facilitator of this. I don't want to preach to them. I want them to be in charge of the classroom. I want them to teach each other and myself. I know I don't have all the answers. We're all in this together. Hopefully, my experience can guide their searches.
