How are you involved in education?
I taught middle and upper school Spanish for 14 years before transitioning last year into my current position as Instructional Technologist at the Maret School. Maret is an independent, co-ed, K-12 school in Washington, D.C. My job is primarily to support and train the faculty at my school as they work to integrate technology more into their classes.
Have you ever attended an unconference?
No, this will be my first one! I'm excited... although I don't know what to expect, either!
How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?
I am always on the lookout for new things to learn, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet other people who are interested in the intersection of technology and education. Sharing with and learning from others sounds like a great way to pass a Saturday.
What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?
I hope to be a good facilitator, a good guide for those I teach (who are primarily other teachers) as they look at their teaching and their curriculum and examine what role technology might play in either (or both).
If you were to lead a session at Edcamp Baltimore, what might you present?
Helping language teachers incorporate technology into their classes.
