How are you involved in education?

I am the Lower School Technology Facilitator at Norwood School in Bethesda, MD.

Have you ever attended an unconference?

YES!!

I have twice been to Edcamp Philly, once to Edcamp Leadership, and attended Edcamp IS in Seattle last year. I have presented three times.

How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?

I hope Edcamp will allow me to BE MORE connected with my colleagues in the DC Metro area.

What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?

I hope my students will BE MORE open minded to trying new things, work creatively, and collaborate. (And I feel this way about my teacher students too.)

If you were to lead a session at Edcamp Baltimore, what might you present?

I could do a three-peat of "Twitter for Newbies" or lead a round-table for tech folks. I would also love to chat about bringing the Edcamp model to your own school.

Sarah is coming to Edcamp Baltimore. Are you? If so, introduce yourself by filling out this form.

How are you involved in education?

I am a 4th grade teacher at Friends School of Baltimore. I also am a PLPeep (Powerful Learning Practice member and Connected Coach.) Over the past year, I have been trying to become more connected via Twitter, blogging, Quadblogging, Mystery Skyping, and more. This year, I will have a project up on the Global Classrooms Project wiki called World Class 4 Kids and I am very excited and looking for participants!

Have you ever attended an unconference?

Yes! Edcamp Philadelphia! It was an incredible experience.

How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?

I hope to connect with more educators and learn from and with them. Sheryl Nussbaum Beach, CEO of PLP, always says, 'All of us together is stronger and smarter than each of us.'

What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?

My hope and goal is for my students to have many "Aha moments" throughout the year! I would love for them to be passionate and curious about learning and confident that they can find ways to figure out whatever it is they want/need to know. I want them to be global participants and contributors to their own learning communities. I want them to feel really good about themselves and know how unique and creative they are.

If you were to lead a session at Edcamp Baltimore, what might you present?

I may present how to use Twitter to find blogs to follow...how to use Tweetdeck to follow conversations...how to use Twitter to increase your PLN...how to use Symbaloo...

How are you involved in education?

I was an elementary classroom teacher for eleven years before taking the position of Lower School Technology Coordinator at Fredericksburg Academy.  I am currently a webinar only participant in PLP and preparing to begin grad school for my masters in Learning Technologies.  Over the past year, I have been building my PLN through Twitter and blogging.

Have you ever attended an unconference?

I just attended Edcamp IS-VA!  It was so thought provoking and rewarding, that I decided to attend Edcamp Baltimore!

How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?

I hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow me to connect with more educators and continue my learning process.  These connections are so important to allowing me to bring my best to my students and colleagues.

What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?

My hopes and goals for the students, and teachers I work with is that they will each have those moments of clarity and relevance.  For my students, it comes from finding ways to make true connections between their learning and the world outside our school.  For my colleagues, it comes from making technology less intimidating and guiding them to discover its relevance, and importance, in their classrooms.

If you were to lead a session at Edcamp Baltimore, what might you present?

I might lead a discussion on the use of iPads in the classroom.  We are in the middle of deploying two carts of the device to our fifth graders.  By the time Edcamp Baltimore occurs, we will have been using them for almost a month.

How are you involved in education?

I am a K-6 computer teacher in Mantua, NJ.  I have been teaching for 15 years, and loving every minute of it.  In addition to my regular teaching duties I also provide staff training and tech support, and am currently working on setting up and implementing an iPad pilot in our district.

Have you ever attended an unconference?

Yes!  I am an unconference junkie.  I have attended Edcamps in Philly, NYC, Harrisburg, Hagerstown, and PadCamp in NJ.

How do you hope Edcamp Baltimore will allow you to be more?

I love the chance to network and share ideas with other likeminded educators.  I always meet wonderful people at these events and come home with tons of new ideas to try.

What are your hopes and goals to allow those you teach to be more?

I am always looking for ways to help prepare my students for life after school.  With the way technology is changing, I need to keep up with it all so my students are not left behind.

If you were to lead a session at Edcamp Baltimore, what might you present?

I'm always interested in talking about iPads in education, both in terms of procedure/policy and educational uses.  Of course, I'm also perfectly happy to ramble on about anything else as well!
